If you want the winery experience without the long drive to the Yakima or Columbia Valleys, head west to the Olympic Peninsula. You might not see many vineyards, as these wineries often use grapes grown in the eastern portion of the state as well as Oregon and California, but you will probably get to take some tours and visit tasting rooms. It's a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
