If you're looking to get away from work and all the stress of city life, pack a couple of days' worth of clothes, a towel and some sunscreen and head to the sandy beaches of Ocean Shores. Whether you spend a day or a weekend, you will easily forget what made you travel there in the first place.
Ocean Shores offers so many activities that you will be hard pressed not to find things to fill your schedule. If having your days wide open with no responsibilities is your plan, that is easy too. Just pack a lunch, bring your towel and listen to the waves lap on the shore.
You'll find 6 miles of beach and 23 miles of interconnecting lakes and canals. Bikers will enjoy 120 miles of virtually flat roads and bike trails. The Ocean Shores Environmental Interpretative Center will help you learn about the natural history of the area. Families will probably want to head over to the Pacific Paradise Family Fun Center which will entertain the kids with games, bumper boats and mini-golf.
Of course, nothing beats getting out on the beach with a kite. There are three local kite stores; try Cutting Edge Kites or Cloud Nine.
