Woodland Park
This park near Green Lake has a nationally acclaimed rose garden. With several tennis courts and athletic fields, It is a great place to play sports. The Woodland Park Zoo is adjacent to the park.

Remarks:The park was originally the estate of Guy Phinney, a businessman who built the first industry on Lake Washington. In 1900, the city council bought the park from the estate of Guy Phinney. The army used the park as a barracks site from 1941 to 1944. The Rose Garden is one of 2 dozen certified American Rose Test gardens in the United States. From May to August, the garden displays rose hybrids before they are available to rose gardeners.
