Treating a burn
by Wendy Holzer
SanDiegoInsider.com

Burn, baby, burn You're in pain. You can't sleep. You're dreading the inevitable peeling. What's a poor sunburned schmuck to do?

Try drugs
Pain relievers like Tylenol or aspirin will help alleviate some of the pain associated with sun burns.

Get wet
Try soaking your burn in cool water.

Moisturize
Try an aloe-based lotion to cool the skin. Sometimes, this will help control peeling.

Vitamin E
Last year, I tried applying Vitamin E oil directly to my skin. I couldn't find any medical evidence that this works, but it seemed to heal my burn faster.

See a doctor
If your burn is accompanied by a fever or blisters, go to the doctor.

Wait
Sadly, there isn't much you can do but wait out a sunburn. The best cure is prevention.
