Seward Park
A great loop trail and a swimming beach along the waters of Lake Washington are the main attractions here. In addition to the usual picnic tables and play areas, Seward Park has a fish hatchery, art studio, hiking trails, and amphitheater.

Remarks:The Friends of Seward Park sponsors activities and work parties. The city bought the area in 1911 and named it after William H Seward, the Secretary of State responsible for America buying Alaska in 1856. The fish ponds were built in 1935 in an effort to make Lake Washington a "fishermen's paradise." For years, the amphitheater was the scene of a lavish orchestra and dance production.
