Burke-Gilman Trail Quite possibly Seattle's most well known and used recreational trail, The Burke-Gilman Trail is ideal for users who want great views of the city, waterways, and Lake Washington. Extending from Fremont to Kenmore, the trail offers a popular route alternative to the streets for cyclers commuting to downtown, the UW or the U-District.
Trail/Path Users:
Perfect for bicyclists, the trail is also popular with skaters, joggers and walkers.
Distance:
The trail was recently extended, to over 16 miles, from Eighth Avenue NW in Fremont to Kenmore's Logboom Park (Tracy Owen Station Park), located at the northern tip of Lake Washington. From here users can continue east to Woodinville on the Sammamish River Trail.
Notes:
The trail can at times be busy and even crowded with cyclists, walkers, joggers and skaters. Caution and trail etiquette requires that all users keep to the right.
