Alki Beach Park
A little bit of Southern California located in West Seattle, Alki Beach Park has extraordinary views of downtown, Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. It is a favorite of rollerbladers, walkers and volleyball players. This beach is also a great place to people-watch or bird-watch.

2 ½ miles of beach access, art studio, volleyball, Paved walking and biking paths, picnic shelter, tables and fire circles.
Remarks: Also known as the "Birthplace of Seattle," Alki beach is where the first Seattle settlers landed. Alki is also one of the first municipal salt-water beaches on the West Coast. Development began in 1911. An arsonist burned down part of the park in 1931. It would lie in ruin until 1946 when the Park Department was able to purchase the pool and waterfront property.
