« Back to Seattle City GuideSeattle Aquarium The Seattle Aquarium is a educational and entertainment experience that showcases the marine habitat of Puget Sound. Some of the exhibits include the new "Life on the Edge" exhbit, where visitors will be able to experience the tidepool life of Washington's wild outer coast and Seattle's inland seas and meet such creatures as aggregating anemones and sunflower sea stars. Two large custom-built exhibit pools which include touch zones staffed by naturalists, have replaced traditional aquarium tanks in the first part of The Aquarium. Also, be sure and visit the Aquarium's 400,000 gallon underwater dome, where visitors can stare up at a variety of sealife all around them.
Along with the seals, sea lions and live daily feedings, the real show-stealers have to be Homer, Kodiak, Nuka, and Lootas, the aquarium's (and the northwest's) native sea otters, whose penchant for the cute human tricks and big "love me" eyes never fail to please the crowds.
