Rainbow Falls State Park
Location
Rainbow Falls is located in Lewis County, 18 miles west of Chehalis and eight miles east of Pe Ell on State Highway 6.
Acreage
850 acres and 3,400 feet of freshwater shoreline on the Chehalis River.
Acquired
The park was acquired in six parcels primarily from the Department of Natural Resources; the first in 1934 and the last in 1981, for a total cost of $519,406. From 1993 to 1995, acquired 56.35 miles of railroad right-of-way between Chehalis and Southbend.
Historical Background
A falls, above a bridge, creates a rainbow which gave the park its name. The area around the park is abundant with bear, elk, deer and grouse.
Facilities
Two comfort stations, 47 campsites, 3 primitive sites, 65 picnic sites, 2 kitchen shelters, play equipment, group camping area for 17 camping units and a kitchen shelter, trailer dump, ballfield, play area, a vehicle and a pedestrian bridge across the Chehalis River, and 62.85 miles of trail. Chehalis to Raymond trail has 33 bridges.

Camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking, kyaking, and playfield games.
