Historical Background
The original 3.92 acres was a developed camping area known as "Ross's Campground". The purchase by State Parks was brought about by the wish to maintain public access to the beach. This park has always been extremely popular for clam digging because it is adjacent to the beach. It is also popular with those wanting to be near/on the beach with a view of the ocean. The park had been operated by concessionaires from the original purchase until December 31, 1990, when the operation was taken over by the staff from Ocean City State Park. Complete renovation of the park was completed in June of 1995.
Facilities
Park contact station/office, 2 restrooms, 31 sites with electrical hookups, 33 standard sites, a trailer dump station, a winter water supply, 6 day use picnic tables, 33 day use/extra car parking stalls and 2 bulletin boards.
Activities
Camping, picnicking, clamming, fresh and saltwater fishing, kite flying, beachcombing, bird watching, kayaking, surfing and enjoyment of the beautiful setting.
