Indian Rock Paintings state park

Location

5 miles NW of Yakima, on U.S. Highway 12. In Yakima County.

None, right-of-way only.

Acquired

The Indian Rock Paintings site was acquired in 1950 via a use agreement from the Yakima Valley Canal Company at no cost to the Commission.

Historical Background

The origin of these Rock Paintings is unknown even to present day Indians in the area.

Visitors may view historic Indian petroglyphs.
