Acquired in six parcels between 1944 and 1957 from W.A. Doty, J.L. Bennett, and the City of Goldendale for a total cost of $22,393.
Historical Background
Brooks Memorial State Park is dedicated to an area citizen, Nelson R. Brooks, who gained prominence in the past for his efforts toward providing an excellent road system in the community.
Facilities
40 picnic sites, 2 kitchen shelters, 22 tent sites, 23 trailer sites, 2 non-vehicle sites, 2 comfort stations, residence, trailer dump, non-organized group camp area, and 3 miles of foot trail.
Environmental Learning Center (ELC) with dining hall and kitchen, 2 comfort stations, 7 cabins, and 4 teepees.
The Commission has a communication site lease with the Bonneville Power Association for the operation of a hydromet facility. The agreement expires in October 1997.

Camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking, and playground activities.
