Bayview State Park

Location
Seven miles west of Burlington, off state highway 20, Skagit County.

Acreage 25.17 acres with 1,285 feet of saltwater shoreline on Padilla Bay.

Acquired
The park was acquired in six parcels; the first in 1925 and the last in 1968, for a total cost of $41,069.

Historical Background
Bay View was the home of PAT-TEH-US, a Noo-Wha-Ah Indian Chief, a signer of the Point Elliott Treaty. The park site was formerly a baseball field, race track, and local picnic sites. The park derives its name from the community of Bay View. The town was named by William J. McKenna who platted and named the original townsite in 1884.

Facilities
Residence, shop building, 59 picnic sites, 1 reservation kitchen shelter, 150 parking spaces, 1,320 feet of unguarded saltwater beach, reservation group camp area (64 persons maximum), highway underpass from camp area to the beach; 1 comfort station, 5 vault toilets; 9 trailer hookup sites, 67 standard sites, 3 primitive sites, reservable kitchen shelter with 100 capacity, 12 camp visitor parking sites; 2 tool storage sheds, and 2 wells (one well not in use). Water is supplied by Skagit County P.U.D.

Activities
Picnicking, camping, saltwater swimming, sail boarding.
